In 2016, $170 million worth of motorcycles were imported, 9% more than in 2015, and the value imported from China and India grew by 6% and 9%, respectively.

Main brands  
The brands that predominate in the Guatemalan market are Suzuki, Bajaj, Honda, Italika and Yamaha, which together account for approximately 69% of units. 

Changes in imports  
Between 2015 and 2016, the value imported from motorcycles in Guatemala increased going from $156 million to $170 million in 2016. 

Between 2015 and 2016 the value imported from China grew by 6%, going from $75 million to $79 million, and from India it grew by 9%, increasing from $60 million to $65 million.

Origin of imports 
In 2016, 46% of the value imported from Guatemala came from China, 38% from India, 5% from the USA, and 1% from Japan.

India is the home market for imports that has grown the most in the last 5 years.   In 2012 it represented 32% of the total import value, and last year the figure reached 38%.
