Guatemala: Energy Tender Announced

Energuate and Egsa will be holding a briefing on the tender for the supply of electricity for the period May 1st 2016 to April 30th 2020.

Empresa Electrica de Guatemala SA (EEGs) wishes to contract out more than 100 MW annually and the volumes that are to correspond to each distributor are variable, said Carlos Rodas, manager of planning to Prensalibre.com.

The distributor Eegsa plans to replace the contract with the La Alborada diesel plant, which expired in September 2015. The tender is open for all types of technologies and resource generation and the format will be a reverse auction. The details of the tender will be announced on February 28, the company said.

"... Companies interested in acquiring the tender documents must be present themselves to the headquarters of one of the two companies and pay $10,000. After receiving the documents, they must designate an authorized representative to receive all notifications. "

Guatemala to Tender 380 MW

In order to replace the contracts that will soon come to an end electricity distributors are preparing to launch tenders in the coming months for the supply of 380 MW.

Auction of 560 MW in Guatemala

February 2014

On March 5, bids will be received in the tender of 560 MW needed by distributors in order to meet demand from May 2014 to April 2017.

On March 5 bids will be received for the tender for short-term energy in the amount of 560 MW for Energuate and Empresa Electrica de Guatemala (EEGSA) so that it can meet demand from May 2014 to April 2017. Some 11 companies have acquired the bidding rules.

Increased interest in Tender for 600MW in Guatemala

Fifty-eight generators have acquired the documents for the tender for up to 600MW for a period of 15 years from May 2015.

The technical and financial bids will be received by Empresa Electrica de Guatemala, SA (EEGSA) and Energuate up until Monday, October 29, 2012.
