As in January and February, the trade sector explained most of the variation in the economic activity index in March, which registered a rise of 3.2% compared to the same month in 2016.

Economic activity measured by the IMAE estimate, up to March 2017, showed growth of 3.2% (2.0% in March 2016). Clic para interactuar con la gráficaClic para interactuar con la gráfica

This result was driven by the positive behavior of the following economic activities: Wholesale and retail trade; Manufacturing industries; Transport, storage and communications; Private services; and Financial intermediation, insurance and ancillary activities.

The seasonally adjusted series recorded a variation of -0.6% in March 2017 compared to the previous month, while the trend-cycle recorded a year-on-year growth rate of 3.5%, more dynamic than a year ago.
