Guatemala Awards Construction Works for $ 26 Million

The five projects awarded are for road reconstruction in the Atlantic coastline area.

The reconstruction of segments Sanarate-Agua Caliente, San Antonio Paz-El Progreso, was awarded to Overseas Engineering and Construction Co. Ltda., SA.

The reconstruction of the access driveway to Morales, Izabal was awarded to William Estuardo Radford Hernández.

Massive Roadworks Tender in Guatemala

On December 21 Conservación Vial (Road Maintenance) published 65 tenders for the maintenance of 2,310 kilometers of unpaved roads and 75 for patching repair works to 3,880 kilometers.

The works comprise the entire national territory and according to the director of Road Maintenance (Covial), Stuart Gonzalez, awards are scheduled for next week.

Panama Puts $7 Million Road Works Out to Tender

The Ministry of Public Works invited bids for the rehabilitation of the road between Calzada Larga and Buenos Aires.

The project involves the following work:
Pipe placement.
Unclassified excavation.
Paved ditches.
CAPAB placement.

22 road maintenance contracts cannot be started as appeals are analyzed, a process that may take another three months.

Construction companies had complained when these works were awarded to a single company for $237 million. As a result, the National Roads Council (Covial), decided to award 17 to company “Hernán Solís”, three to “Constructora MECO”, one to “Orosi Siglo XXI” and one to “Quebradores del Sur”.

$9 Million for Highway Maintenance

Panama's transportation ministry invited bids for rehabilitation works at highway José Agustín Arango.

The bidding rules were published in PanamáCompra, and establish that bids must be submitted before March 2.

Works include removing road surface, installing drainage pipelines and installing cement layers, plus building a pedestrian bridge.
