In July, the consumer price index recorded a rise of 0.69%, accumulating inflation so far this year of 3.13%.

A report by the National Institute of Statistics reported that the Consumer Price Index for July 2016 stood at 125.49, recording a monthly variation of 0.69%, and compared to June last year the variation was 4, 62%.

The monthly variation recorded in July 2016 stood at 0.69%, which shows an acceleration in the price level of 0.18 compared to July 2015 (0.51%).  The monthly variation recorded in July 2016 is the second highest in the months of July in the period 2009-2015 and is 0.21 above the average of 0.48 for the aforementioned period.

Of the twelve divisions that make up CPI expenditure, food (1.91%), housing (0.31%), and restaurants (0.22%) contributed the most to the level of inflation reached in July 2016 (0.69%). Meanwhile transport (-1.03%), furniture and household items (-0.06%) had negative variations.

A report by the National Institute of Statistics reported that the Consumer Price Index for September 2016 stood at 125.46, recording a monthly variation of -0.21%, and compared to September last year the variation was 4.56%.

Guatemala: Annual Inflation to January 2016 is 4.38%

In December, the consumer price index recorded a rise of 0.91%, making inflation in the last twelve months 4.38%.

The monthly variation recorded in January 2016 stood at 0.91%, with an acceleration of 0.48% compared to the previous month (0.43%). In relation to the figure for January 2015 it went up by 1.27%.
