Guatemala: Annual Inflation in January 2018 is 4.7%

From a report by the National Institute of Statistics:

The most important inflation levels for January 2018 are the following: a monthly variation of -0.40% was registered, an interannual variation of 4.71% and an accumulated variation of -0.40%.  Click to interact with graphClick to interact with graph

Of the twelve divisions of expenditure that make up the CPI, food (-0.99%), recreation (-0.78%) and communications (-0.03%), reflect the behavior in the price level of inflation up to January 2018. In turn, education (0.39%), health (0.30%), are some of the divisions that showed increases in their price level.

The interannual variation in January 2018 (4.71%) was 0.88 higher than that observed in the same month of the previous year (3.83%).  And in relation to that registered in December 2017 (5.68%) it fell 0.97.

In the fourth month of the year, the CPI registered a monthly variation of 0.04%, mainly explained by the behavior of transport prices and alcoholic beverages.

In the third month of the year, the CPI recorded a monthly variation of 0.2%, mainly explained by the behavior of food, health and recreation prices.

The CPI registered a monthly variation of -0.2%, mainly explained by the negative behavior of food prices.

Guatemala: 4.2% YoY Inflation as of October 2017

The CPI registered a monthly variation of 0.54%, mainly explained by the behavior of the prices of food and health services.
