Guatemala: Airfield in Retalhuleu Now Operating

In a first stage, the aerodrome will receive domestic flights in order to revive tourism in the area.

Later the airfield will be adapted to receive international flights, as part of the plan drawn up by the Guatemágica Tourist Circuit Council, which aims to increase tourist arrivals to Retalhuleu and surrounding areas.

Ricardo Alejos, Council representative told that   "...'What is sought is to promote tourism in Retalhuleu and the region, as we have attractive locations such as Institute of Recreation Parks for the Workers of Private Enterprise (Irtra), Dino Park, Toy Museum, Takalij Abaj, Champerico Beach and Organic Farms for tourism '. "

Nicaragua: New Flights Ometepe Island

An announcement has been made of the arrival, starting May 29, of two flights per week from Managua to the new airport on the island of Ometepe.

The airfield which had an investment of more than $10 million, will receive La Costeña, an air carrier which will operate flights on Thursdays and Sundays, at a cost of $100 per roundtrip ticket.

Panama: Operations Begin at the Darién Airfield

With an investment of $2.1 million, construction at the airfield, which is located in the community of San Vicente, Metetí, has been completed.

Carlos Sanchez, Coordinator of the Social Investment Fund (FIS), believes that the project will contribute to the development of commerce and tourism.
