Guatemala: 3.45% YoY Inflation up to September

In September, the consumer price index rose by 0.05%, with the three categories Alcoholic Beverages, Recreation and Culture, and Various Goods and Services increasing the most.

From a report issued by the National Statistical Institute of Guatemala:

The Consumer Price Index for September 2014 stood at 117.78, registering a monthly variation of 0.05%, and compared to September last year the variation was 3.45%.

The variation in September 2014 (3.45%) fell by 0.76 relative to the amounts observed in the same month last year (4.21%). And in relation to the figure recorded in August 2014 (3.70%) it decelerated by 0.25.

The variation to September 2014 (3.45%) is lower than that observed in the months of September in the period 2007-2013, and is 2.07 below the average (5.52) for the aforementioned period. The highest variation in the period of analysis occurred in 2008 which was 12.75%.

The most important results up to September 2014 are as follows: A monthly variation of 0.05%, year on year of 3.45%, and accumulated variation of 2.70%.

The monthly variation (0.05%), cumulative (2.70%) and year on year (3.45%) recorded a slowdown compared to what was observed in September 2013 (0.29%) (3.63%) (4.21%) respectively.

After reaching its highest level in June this year with 5.6%, the price index reported a variation of 5.1% in September with respect to the same month in 2017.

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased 0.50 percent (0.32% in September 2017), mainly explained by the behavior of the prices in some goods and services of the divisions of Recreation and culture (6.79%); Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuel (1.73%) and Transportation (1.15%); which together contributed 0.496 percentage points to the observed variation.

Honduras: 4.4% year-on-year inflation Up to September 2018

The consumer price index registered a slight monthly variation of 0.03%, due to the increase in the prices of housing rent and some personal care items.

From the Central Bank of Honduras Report:

In September 2018, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) showed a monthly variation of 0.03%, due to the increase observed in the price of housing rents, some personal care items, food consumed in restaurants, furniture and household appliances, which was almost compensated by the negative variation reflected in the national average prices of some agricultural perishable foods. As a result, the accumulated inflation up to September 2018 was 2.90%, lower than the same period of 2017 (3.24%), while the inter-annual inflation was 4.38% (3.66% twelve months ago), remaining within the tolerance range of 4.0% ± 1.0 percentage points, set in the revision of the 2018-2019 Monetary Program.

Nicaragua: 4.1% YoY Inflation up to September 2017

In September, monthly variation was 0.32%, and inflation accumulated in the first nine months of the year closed at 2.7%.

From a report by the Central Bank of Nicaragua:

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) showed a monthly variation of 0.32 percent (-0.30% in September 2016), mainly explained by the behavior of prices in some goods and services in the divisions of Transport (2.04%); Accommodation, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (1.15%); and Restaurants and hotels (0.33%), which together contributed 0.293 percentage points to the variation observed. In contrast, the category of Food and non-alcoholic beverages showed a variation of -0.21 percent (-0.071pp). [GRAFICA caption = "Click to interact with graphics"]

Guatemala: 3.38% Annual Inflation up to November

December 2014

In November, the consumer price index recorded a rise of 0.19%, explained by an increase in the divisions of food, recreation and health.

From a report by the National Statistical Institute of Guatemala (INE):

The Consumer Price Index for November 2014 stood at 118.19, registering a monthly variation of 0.19% and compared to November last year the variation was 3.38%.
