Guatemala: $11 Million for New Logistics Center

In the municipality of Villa Nueva, Nestlé began the construction of a new distribution center of 12 thousand square meters.

The construction of the new industrial park, which will have logistics services for import and export of finished products, storage, distribution of products to supermarket chains, wholesalers and retail, will be completed in August 2020.

Patricio Astolfi, country manager of Nestlé Guatemala, told Prensalibre.com that "... In this new complex of services and logistic processes, we will have the capacity to store more than 20 thousand pallets in antiseismic racking systems, as well as space for 33 reception and dispatch doors, providing the operation with the necessary agility to comply with the deliveries to our clients, including platforms such as WMS SAP and Voice picking."

The article adds that "... in Nestlé's new distribution center in Guatemala all the company's products marketed in the country such as Maggi and Malher, pet foods such as Nestlé Purina, beverages such as Nescafé, Milo and Nesquik, child nutrition products such as Nestum, Nan and Gerber, cereals such as Nestlé and Nesquik, cheeses and chocolates, among others, will be stored and distributed."

According to the directors, this project is divided into three phases, which are the construction of the main warehouse and office area, and the next two will be for expansion.

Not Enough Logistics Parks in Costa Rica
