Guanaja Airport in Honduras to be inaugurated tomorrow

The project which was started two years ago is a part of the transformation process in Honduras for a better international tourism benchmark.

The main building is 320 square meters and will have a tourist information office, male and female restrooms, a souvenirs shop, a cafeteria, waiting room, and customer service area.

It contributes to the development of tourism activity which represents the third biggest income earner in Honduras.

New Airport in Panama

In the district of Pedasi, Los Santos, an airfield has been inaugurated which will facilitate tourist access to the area.

Residents of the district of Pedasi, Los Santos, stated yesterday that the construction of the new airport in the region will contribute to increasing the presence of tourists visiting the area for the white sand beaches and islands that are available.

Panama: New International Airport Proposed

The new $44 million terminal would be located in Río Hato, taking advantage of the runway used by the U.S. Army until 1999.

This was proposed by the ex-manager of the Air Transport Authority (AAC), Zósimo Guardia, during a meeting with the Panamanian Association of Business Executives.

$1 billion for tourist project in Honduras

American real estate company, RKI, presented a tourism development project for the island of Guanaja to the Government of Honduras

RKI (Richard Knorr International) presented the project, called Arrow Green, to the Minister of Tourism for Honduras, Ricardo Martinez, at a meeting of Honduran and American officials and business persons on September 24 in Chicago.

"The inauguration of the first phase of the airport terminal facilities is scheduled for August 15," said Richmond Hurslton, Mayor of Guanaja.

Some US$350,000 (6.5 million lempiras) have been invested in the first phase of the construction of the airport terminal on the island of Guanaja, and it is expected that another $530,000 will be invested.
