A development company has started in Rivas the construction of a 1,800 square meter hotel with 24 rooms, two meeting rooms and other amenities.

<span dir="ltr">Without disclosing the total amount of the investment, representatives of Gran Victoria S.A. stated that on February 1 construction started of a hotel that will be located in the center of the city of Rivas, which will have a swimming pool, restaurant and a basement.
Regarding the category of the hotel, project manager, María Eugenia Mejicano, explained to Elnuevodiario.com that "...'The project is scheduled to conclude in 18 months, and is being built under theinternational parameters of a 4-star hotel, with this opening the plan is to diversify and provide better accomodation conditions, generate new jobs and accommodate large delegations visiting our city'."
In relation to the style of construction, the article states that "... the two-story building will exhibit all of its colonial aesthetics in its interior, but it will preserve the original façade of the old building that extends from east to west, facing the South side of Evaristo López Carazo Park in this city."

The company Toscana Azuero has announced that it will build a hotel and a housing complex in Playa El Toro, in the province of Los Santos.
Complaints by the hotel industry regarding the low occupancy rates of their rooms due to an apparent excess in the number of hotels, do not seem to have affected the boost in investment in the sector, particularly in areas outside of Panama City, where the largest number of rooms is reported.
Situated on the Pacific, 55 kilometers from Panama City, will be the new Panama Marriott Resort Casamar, a 5 star hotel with 180 rooms in several interconnected buildings.

Marriott Hotels & Resorts have announced plans to develop a 180-room hotel in the resort community Casamar on the Pacific coast of Panama.
The touristic development, to be located in the Tela Bay, finally landed funding from 5 financial institutions.
Ficohsa, BAC Honduras, Ficensa, Guatemala's "Banco de Desarrollo Rural" and Panama's "Banco Pichincha" approved a $24 million structured credit to fund this initiative.
