Group Cofiño Stahl to Market Audi in Guatemala

The business anticipates opening a new agency to assist clients in September.

The manager of sales, Jorge Vallendor, announced that next month they will present the 5-passenger Audi Q5 vehicle.

Roxana Larios writes in an article in "Starting this month, Group Cofiño Stahl will market Audi cars after the acquisition of Regesa, which is part of Continental Motors," reports the general manager of the Group, José Javier Casas.

Guatemala: New Car Sales Up 25%

In the first nine months of the year a total of 17,053 new vehicles were sold, 25.14% more than in the same period of 2010.

Industry sales projections indicate that by the end of the year about 24,000 new cars will have been sold, compared to 19,813 in 2010.

In 2008 269 automobiles were sold, according to Consultenos S.A., the exclusive importer in Panama. reports: "We exceeded the goal we set at the beginning of 2008," said Roberto Duran De La Guardia, manager of Audi Panama.

According to Duran, this will be the fifth consecutive year of "very good growth in the country"."

Panama's auto sales grow by 19%

During the first six months of this year, automobile distributors sold 22,227 new cars, up 19 percent from the same period last year.

While 19 percent may seem impressive, it's down from last year's growth of 29 percent, according to the Panama Association of Auto Distributors.
