Gasoline Consumption Still Rising

In Panama, 1.035 million gallons of fuel were sold from January to November 2019, and demand for 95-octane gasoline grew by 7% over the same period in 2018.

The General Comptroller of the Republic reported that during the first eleven months of 2019, gasoline consumption in the country, which includes 91 and 95 octane gasoline, reached 309 million gallons, 3% more than in the same period of the previous year.

Demand for low-sulphur diesel also increased for the periods in question, rising from 334 million to 339 million gallons. In the case of Bunker C, consumption grew by 13 per cent, from 56 million to 64 million gallons.

The consumption of liquefied petroleum gas, which includes butane and propane, reported a slight increase of 1%, rising from 87.9 million gallons from January to November 2018 to 88.9 million gallons in the same period in 2019.

The figures of the General Comptroller of the Republic report that during the first seven months of 2019 the consumption of gasoline in the country, which includes the 91 and 95 octane, totaled 195 million gallons, 2% more than in the same period of the previous year.

Fuel Consumption in Panama Still Declining

January 2019

From January to November last year, fuel sales totaled 1.010 million gallons, 5% less than the 1.058 million gallons reported in the first eleven months of the previous year.

The most recent data published by the General Comptroller of the Republic of Panama details that during the first eleven months of 2018 the consumption of gasoline in the country, which includes the 91 and 95 octane, totaled 300 million gallons, 0.8% more than in the same period last year.
