From a statement issued by the Ministry of Economy of El Salvador (MINEC):

During the month of February, the price of WTI (West Texas Intermediate) in the Gulf Coast of the United States had an average value of $50.25 per barrel, a reduction of 12.19% compared to the previous month. In turn, in recent weeks the international prices of petroleum products recorded the following variations: + 7.09% in special gasoline, + 11.90% on regular gasoline and + 5.69% in diesel.

Changes in international fuel prices have been influenced by favorable expectations of increased global demand; interrelated with the depreciation of the dollar against other market baskets, since a weaker dollar benefits oil derivatives because it becomes less expensive for holders of other currencies.
