Current variations in the reference prices of fuels have gone down due to a decline in international prices of oil and its derivatives.

The fall in prices responds to increasing oil reserves in the US, coupled with the uncertainty caused by the upcoming OPEC meeting on November 30 in Vienna, where a possible cut in production will be decided.

In addition, the pressure over a drop in stocks on Wall Street also caused instability in the oil market.

From a report by the Ministry of Economy of El Salvador:

According to the latest report from the Energy Information Administration Agency (EIA), gasoline stocks grew close to 1.2 million barrels at the end of the week, while distillates and diesel increased by approximately 1.8 million barrels, the increase recorded, confirms the favorable moment for refineries because the production rate has remained at 98.1%, providing sufficient supply to the market.

After this second consecutive decline, reference prices for liquid fuels in El Salvador are once again moving downwards, due to repeated fluctuations in international oil prices and its derivatives, causing ups and downs in different periods, current price fluctuations are directly due to volatility in international markets in light of to the new political landscape and optimism about the state of the economy of the United States, reflected in a strengthening of the dollar.
