From a statement issued by the Ministry of Economy in El Salvador:

The Ministry of Finance announced this July 21, new variations on the reference prices for fuel, which will be effective from 22 July to 4 August 2014.

During the month of July 2014, the price of WTI (West Texas Intermediate) in the Gulf Coast of the United States averaged a value of $92.58 per barrel, a decrease of -6.13% compared to the previous period. For its part, the international prices of petroleum products showed the following changes in the past few weeks:
-2.66% on the price of premium gasoline, -2.74% in the price of regular gasoline and -1.72% in the price of diesel.

Changes in international prices have been influenced by the stabilization in international markets in reference to the Middle Eastern geopolitical conflict generating expectations of a stable supply of crude oil; tied to this behavior is the expectations of weak demand which has pushed the price down.

The new changes in reference prices for fuels nationwide, are as follows: decrease for special gasoline - $ 0.12 in the Eastern zone and - $ 0.13 in the Central and Western areas; decrease for regular gasoline - $ 0.10 in the West zone and - $ 0.09 in the central and eastern areas, and diesel will decrease - $ 0.06 in the Eastern zone and - $ 0.07 in the Central and Western areas.

In Central America, El Salvador ranks in first position for having in the lowest prices on regular gasoline and second in the prices of petrol and diesel special:
