From a statement issued by the Ministry of Economy of El Salvador:

The Ministry of Economy announced on August 3 that the reference prices for fuels (gasoline and diesel), effective from 4 to August 17, 2015, will experience significant reductions.

The slowdown in the international economy, a growing oversupply of oil in a climate of low demand and highs exports from Iran are, among other things; the factors that have contributed this time to the drop in derivatives beingare much more marked and the effects impact on diesel as well as regular and special gasoline.

Variations in international prices of refined products in recent weeks, have influenced prices in Central America; however, El Salvador is in second place with the lowest prices for petrol and diesel.
