Monday, October 27, 2014

Excerpted from a statement by the Ministry of Economy of El Salvador:

In October, the price of WTI (West Texas Intermediate) in the Gulf Coast of the United States had an average value of $79.39 per barrel, a decrease of -6.29% compared to the previous month. In turn, in recent weeks, international prices of petroleum products, recorded the following changes: -9.5% in the price of a gallon of premium gas, -14.7% in the price of regular gasoline and -7 8% in the price of diesel.

The fall in the international price of oil and its derivatives, in recent weeks, is the result of negative expectations for world oil demand generated by the weak recovery in the major economies of the world, which in turn are reflected in the mixed behavior of fuel inventory levels and a decrease in the rate of refining in the US.
