Fuel Consumption Up 4% in First Quarter

In the first three months of 2019, 289 million gallons of fuel were sold in Panama, 4% more than the 278 million gallons reported during the same period in 2018.

The latest data published by the General Comptroller of the Republic detail that during the first three months of 2019 the consumption of gasoline in the country, which includes 91 and 95 octanes, amounted to 28 million gallons, 2.8% more than in the same period last year.

Demand for low-sulphur diesel also increased for the periods in question, from 91 million to 96 million gallons. In the case of Bunker C, consumption grew 2%, from 18.9 million gallons to 19.3 million gallons.

The consumption of liquefied petroleum gas including butane and propane reported a 1% increase, rising from 23.6 million gallons in the first quarter of 2018 to 23.9 million gallons in the same period of 2019.

Fuel Consumption in Panama Falls 5%

December 2018

From January to October of this year, fuel sales in the country totaled 924 million gallons, 5% less than the 974 million gallons reported in the first ten months of 2017.

The latest report published by the General Comptroller of the Republic of Panama details that during the first ten months of 2018 the fuel consumption in the country, which includes 91 and 95 octanes, totaled 274 million gallons, 0.7% more than in the same period last year.
