Fuel Consumption Starts 2020 Downwards

During January of this year in Panama 90 million gallons of fuel were sold, a figure that is 7% less than that reported in the same month of 2019.

The General Comptroller of the Republic reported that during the first month of 2020, gasoline consumption in the country, which includes 91 and 95 octanes, fell to 27.9 million gallons, 1.3% more than the 27.5 million gallons registered in January 2019.

Demand for low-sulphur diesel also declined for the periods in question, from 33.3 million to 29.5 million gallons. In the case of Bunker C, consumption decreased by 39 per cent, from 4.4 million to 2.7 million gallons.

Consumption of liquefied petroleum gas, which includes butane and propane, rose by only 1.3 per cent.

Panama: Fuel Consumption Increases to 3%

From January to July 2019, 673 million gallons of fuel were sold, 3% more than the 653 million gallons reported during the same period in 2018.

El Salvador Consumes More Fuels

March 2019

During 2018, the Salvadoran market demanded 574.3 million gallons of fuels, 3.4% more than the consumption reported in 2017.

Data from the Directorate of Hydrocarbons and Mines, detail that between 2017 and 2018 fuel consumption increased by 19 million gallons, going from 555 million to 574 million gallons.

Fuel Consumption in Panama Still Declining

January 2019

From January to November last year, fuel sales totaled 1.010 million gallons, 5% less than the 1.058 million gallons reported in the first eleven months of the previous year.

The most recent data published by the General Comptroller of the Republic of Panama details that during the first eleven months of 2018 the consumption of gasoline in the country, which includes the 91 and 95 octane, totaled 300 million gallons, 0.8% more than in the same period last year.
