Pilot Testing for the Customs Simplified Procedure

As part of a pilot plan in Nicaragua eight companies have started using the Foreign Trade Single Window system, a platform that allows pre-customs procedures to be carried out.

Friday, March 9, 2018

The window that is expected to start operating in the middle of the year will allow for procedures to obtain permits and documents needed to export or import to be done online, including payments in banks and institutions via an online platform.

Regarding the test phase that is being carried out, the president of the Superior Council of Private Enterprise, José Adán Aguerri, told Elnuevodiario.com that " ...The eight companies will fill out their export or import permit applications from their desks, they will be able to fill out the document and make the payment, and the company does not have to send anyone to make arrangements at the institutions, everything is done online."

For his part, the general manager of the Association of Producers and Exporters, Mario Arana, said that " ... The platform streamlines the export process, reduces costs, reduces paperwork, therefore it makes you more competitive."
