Food industry: $95 million Investment

The Nestlé company invested $20 million in Panama in its new distribution center and $75 million in a purchasing hub.

According to representatives from Nestlé, the new distribution center is located in Parque Sur and the investment allowed them to increase their logistics capacity by 40%, and the shopping hub is located in Costa del Este. From there a group of buyers will acquire different categories of Nestlé products for all countries.

Regarding the decision to invest in Panama, Leo Leiman, CEO of Nestlé Centroamérica, explained to Elcapitalfinanciero.com that " ... it is one of the markets with the highest growth in Latin America. In fact, this business boom led them to make two new ventures. "

Leiman added that "... Nestlé only has three shopping hubs in the world, one located in Malaysia, another in Switzerland and the third in Panama."

Suministros & Alimentos invested in the expansion of its central distribution facility located in Zone 2 of Mixco.

The new center has capacity to serve more than 1,700 customers and store approximately 318.000 cases of goods in their warehouses for frozen, refrigerated and dry goods.
