Food Industry Trends in 2015

"Clean" labels , healthy snacks, frozen and convenience foods, good fats and own name brands are some of the factors that marking out global trends this year.

From a statement issued by the Costa Rican Foreign Trade Promotion Office (Procomer):

The main trends which will probably affect the food industry in 2015, have been identified by Innova Market Insights, from analysis of the most important events in the industry.

"The change from "clean" labels to "clear" labels is a key trend for 2015, reflecting the the move to clear and simple claims providing maximum transparency," said Lu Ann Williams, director of Innovation at Innova Market Insights. "Meeting the needs of millennium consumers has become a key element, as well as targeting the demands of gourmet consumers at home, transforming the market engineering of snacks to suit today's lifestyles, and fighting obesity by focusing on positive nutrition ".
