Flights to the island of Roatán, Honduras reduced

Fewer flights will be going to the Caribbean island of Roatán, Honduras in the future.

Thursday, June 26, 2008

Taca Airlines will suspend two flights from Houst from Houston and Miami, Delta will stop flying from Atlanta, and Continental is suspending three flights from Houston.
As a result, there will be just two foreign flights to the island - a Continental flight form Houston and a Blue Panorama flight from Milan.
All of the airlines involved say that they have been losing money on the service.
For its part, the island is expecting reduced employment levels, though things will pick up in the winter, when six or seven cruise ships per week stop there.
The island features spectacular beaches and exellent conditions for scuba diving.
