Filling Stations: New Investment in Costa Rica

On March 19, Metalub began operating a new Filling Station located in Walmart Escazu, an establishment with 285 square meters of floor space.

According to representatives of the company, the recently inaugurated establishment is called MetaCentro, required an investment of $120 thousand and the practices carried out in this establishment are considered to be environmentally friendly.

In addition to offering oil change service, Metalub offers its customers tire service, brakes, fast mechanics, scanning, gas check, among others.

Francis Vicent, the company's marketing manager, told Nacion.com that the opening of the lube center at a Walmart site is because "... Metalub made a partnership with this supermarket chain which, also, has a commitment to help the country achieve decarbonization goals."

Vicent announced that the company plans to open two more lube centers that are considered environmentally sustainable. Metalub's plans are to inaugurate in May 2021 a new location at Walmart de Paraíso, in Cartago, and to start operating another establishment starting next August at Walmart de Guadalupe, in San Jose.

CentralAmericaData's research shows that there are close to 15,000 Filling Stations, spare parts store and automotive repair shops in Central America, and close to 65% of these establishments are located in Costa Rica, Guatemala and Panama.
