Figures on Tractor Imports in Central America

In 2015 the Central American countries as a whole imported $167 million worth of tractors, of which 42% came from the US, 27% from Mexico, 8% from Brazil and 5% from Italy.

Imports by country
In 2015 the main importer of tractors was Guatemala, with $49 million, followed by Costa Rica with $47 million Nicaragua with $22 million, Honduras with $20 million, Panama with $19 million and finally El Salvador, with $10 million.

Origin of imports
In the case of Guatemala 82% of imports in 2015 came from the US and Mexico, the situation was similar in Costa Rica because 51% of total purchases were made in the same two North American countries. 

Main selling country

In 2015 the US was the main supplier of tractors to Central American countries, selling a total of $70 million worth for this purpose, with the main customer being Guatemala with $27 million worth of imports, followed by Costa Rica with $11 million and Nicaragua with $10 million.

Tractor Imports from Brazil Up 24%

August 2017

In 2016 imports of tractors into Central American countries totaled $165 million, and the value imported from Brazil grew by 24% compared to 2015.

March 2017

Between January and September 2016 the value of regional imports of tractors from the US grew by 30% compared to the same period in 2015.
