Figures on Imports of Taps in Central America

Between January and September 2016 Central American countries imported $164 million in bathroom fittings, led by Costa Rica, with $48 million.

Changes in imports 
Considering the January-September period, between 2015 and 2016 the total value of taps imported from Central America did not change significantly, however, the imported value bought from Germany grew by 22% going from $8 million in 2015 to $10 million in 2016. 

Imports by country 
In the first nine months of 2016 the main importer of taps in Central America were Costa Rica with $48 million, followed by Guatemala, with $38 million, Panama, with $30 million, Honduras with $18 million, El Salvador with $16 million and Nicaragua, with $14 million.

Origin of imports  
In the first three quarters of 2016, 36% of the value of imports from Central America came from the US, 23% from China, 8% from Mexico, 6% from Germany and 4% from Spain.

Central America Buys More German Taps

In 2016 the value of Central American imports of faucets from Germany amounted to $12 million, 18% more than in 2015.

New Helvex Center in Costa Rica

February 2009

Comercial Covex S.A., a subsidiary of Helvex from Mexico, plans to open a new distribution center in Santa Ana within two weeks.

Elfinancierocr.com reports on its website that "Miguel Servin, manager of the company, explained that they have still not calculated how many new jobs will be created with the opening. He added that they also plant to incorporate new products into the local market."
