Main importers 
Among the main market participants are Grupo Sur, Lanco, Grupo Solid, Sherwin Williams, Pinturas Glidden and Pintuco, which together account for approximately 45% of intraregional imports.

Variation in intraregional trade  
Between 2015 and 2016, the total value of paint and varnish traded between Central American countries grew by 2%, rising from $130 million in 2015 to $133 million in 2016.

In 2016 Costa Rica was the main seller in the region, with $61 million, followed by Guatemala, with $35 million, El Salvador with $34 million and Honduras with $4 million. Nicaragua and Panama did not record significant exports

In 2016, Nicaragua was the country that purchased the most paint and varnish in the region, importing $32 million worth, of which $15 million was bought from Guatemala, $13 million from Costa Rica, and $4 million from El Salvador.
