Femsa Backs Dairy and Derivative Products

Coca Cola FEMSA is planning to harness the potential of Latin America and make an aggressive expansion in the region, by backing dairy products.

Jose Castro, director of investor relations at the company, at an annual meeting with the media, said that after the acquisition of Blue Star Panama in March, the company will build a new plant in Panama and by the end of the year will have defined its business plan for achieving their expansion plans.

"It has also been revealed that in Argentina they are starting to venture into this business with the launch of the brand Hugo, which is a milk and juice combination. As part of its strategy, the bottler will add 3,000 extra coffee machines this year, which will add to the 5,000 it already has.

Related to this business line, a group led by José Antonio Fernandez is also conducting tests in countries like Brazil, Colombia and Costa Rica, where it has a total of 41 units. "
