In an area spanning 70 hectares, the logistics center will feature complete services, container parking, security systems, fiber optics, banks and even a health center.

In the first phase approximately one hundred lots will be available with areas ranging from 2,500 to 3,500 square meters up to 14,000 square meters with direct access from C-A5 highway that connects Tegucigalpa with San Pedro Sula.

$4 Million Investment in Logistics Center in Panama

Ricardo Pérez S.A., a distributor for Toyota, Daihatsu and Hino, is building a logistics center with advice from the Toyota Corporation.

The logistics center, located near the Pacific and Atlantic ports, will open in May.

Fernando Miranda, vice president of post-sales for Ricardo Perez S.A., explained the advantages of the center to La Estrella de Panama: "This project brings efficiency and agility in customer dispatch, reducing time and cost." It will allow the company to “reduce the time between port arrival and placement of the products for sale from 5 to 2 ½ days."

Panama gives green light to Caterpillar contract

May 2008

Panama's comptroller-general ratified a contract between Caterpillar Latin America, the Finance Ministry and the Agency for Panama-Pacific Special Economic Area.

Under the contract, US-based Caterpillar acquired two building lots in Howard for a total of US$6.75 million. Caterpillar plans to build a laboratory on one of the lots for lubricants for machinery made by its subsidiaries, as well as a training center and a showroom for its construction equipment.
