Extension of Guatemala-Cuba Trade Agreement

In the last week of September, the first round of negotiations for the deepening and extension of the Partial Scope Agreement between the two countries is scheduled to take place in Havana.

The second round of negotiations will take place in Guatemala City during the week of October 7-11 this year, and will analyze in depth access to markets and rules of origin, in order to advance in the exchange of negotiating positions, informed the Ministry of Economy of Guatemala (Mineco).

Guatemala, June 24, 2019. The first meeting of the Administrative Commission of the Partial Scope Agreement between Guatemala and Cuba took place last Friday in the Cuban city of Santiago with the aim of preparing the negotiation rounds that will allow in the future to complement the trade between both nations through the deepening and broadening of the treaty already signed in 1999, which is expected to strengthen both markets.

The Vice-Minister of Integration and Foreign Trade of Guatemala, Julio Dougherty and Antonio Carricarte, First Vice-Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment of Cuba, signed the official document.

The Minister of Commerce and Industry from Panama, Ricardo Quijano signed with the Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment in Cuba, Rodrigo Malmierca, a Framework of Understanding for the Extension of the Partial Scope Agreement between both countries.

El Salvador and Cuba Negotiate Trade Agreement

March 2011

From March 8 through March 10, Salvadoran negotiators are meeting with their Cuban peers in Havana.

The meetings are in response to interest shown by Salvadoran exporters, who already export to Cuba, to create a permanent framework that will facilitate and increase trade with Cuba.
