$52 Million for Expanding "Coastal Belt"

Panama's government authorized the project through an amendment to the contract with company Odebrecth S.A.

After the extension, the "Coastal Belt" (Cinta Costera) will reach the old part of the city (Casco Antiguo), a few meters from the "Palacio de las Garzas", the governmental residence of the President.

"The contract for the second phase also includes the removal of four piers and the construction of a new one providing all the same facilities for companies and citizens", reported Prensa.com.

Extension of Panamanian Coastal Belt Begins

Brazilian Company Norberto Odebrecht has received orders from the Executive to begin construction of the project.

The $52 million project extends the coastal belt from the Old Quarter (Casco Antiguo) in San Felipe to a few meters short from the President's office (Palacio de las Garzas).

Coastal Strip Inaugurated in Panama

The inauguration of the $189 million road project is set for the weekend of June 27th and 28th.

According to Laestrella.com.pa, the opening date of the Coastal Strip of Panama was published in the newspaper La Prensa, where the Minister of Transportation and Public Works (MOP acronym in Spanish) said that everything was prepared for this weekend.
