Exporters and Opportunities for 2020

The marketing of organic shrimp, vegetable meat, Monk Fruit and carob are some of the innovative market opportunities that Guatemalan exporters have identified for this year.

For the "Best Markets, Products & Services 2020 Study", prepared by the Market Development and Trade Promotion Department of AGEXPORT, 27 high potential markets for Guatemalan products and services exports were selected, identifying 18 countries and 9 states of the United States, which together with the 351 tariff items generate more than 900 commercial opportunities for the Guatemalan exportable supply and international markets, informed the sector's union.

Of the chosen markets where Guatemala has greater commercial opportunity are those of the American continent: United States, Canada and Mexico with the appearance of new markets in South America like Chile, Bolivia and Peru.

Paola Alvarez, Market Development and Trade Promotion Manager of AGEXPORT, explained that "... Within the wide range of products that Guatemala has to position itself in international markets are: roasted coffee, cocoa powder, coconut oil, cucumber, prepared and preserved mushrooms, prepared mustard, essential oils, roses, gloves and mittens, pepper, paraffin, soaps, chemicals and more."

The statement explains that "... Among the improvements and innovations presented by the Study, is the selection of disruptive products such as organic shrimp, monk fruit, vegetable meats, carob and more."

Fruit Logistica 2015

The organizers are in Central America to call on companies from the Central American horticultural sector to participate in the event to be held in Germany.

From a press release issued by the Guatemalan Association of Exporters (Agexport):

Representatives from the most important fruit and vegetable commercial event, Fruit Logistica, to be held in Berlin, Germany in 2015, with the support of AGEXPORT, the Guatemalan German Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Messe Berlin, made the official invitation from Guatemala, Latin American to entrepreneurs inviting them to participate in the horticultural trade fair which opens doors for agricultural business in Europe and the world.
