Thursday, March 1, 2018

"... 'We have an excellent Expo, with very good expectations. We will have to wait for the numbers at the end of the event, but we hope that the economic spillover for the country will be at least equal to last year's, that is to say, worth about $45 million. Business transactions between participants should be in the order of $130 million," Inocencio Galindo, president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industries of Panama (CCIAP), told La Estrella de Panamá."

The multisectorial exhibition that will run until March 3, at the Atlapa Convention Center, will involve more than 500 companies from Argentina, Belize, Belgium, Brazil, China, Chile, Colombia, Korea, Costa Rica, El Salvador, the United States, Guatemala, Indonesia, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Singapore, Taiwan, Turkey and Venezuela. Singapore and Belize are taking part, for the first time, as exhibitors.

García Icaza explained that, in this edition, as a new feature, in a strategic alliance with the Ministry of Commerce and Industries (MICI), through the National Directorate of Export Promotion and PROINVEX, the first National Business Round will be held as an incentive to boost Panamanian exports that wish to enter other markets. This parallel event is being held within the framework of EXPOCOMER, as this exhibition is a platform to expand and establish business contacts.
