Electronic Over Paper Books

The replacement of the traditional literature vehicle, the paper book, by electronic media, is only a matter of time.

Thursday, October 21, 2010

Andres Oppenheimer, in his column in Elnuevoherald.com, discussed how this issue is viewed by recent Literature Nobel Prize winner, Peruvian genius, Mario Vargas Llosa.

Given the devastating statistics marking the progress of e-books over paper, Vargas Llosa, who has written many times about the pleasure of reading traditional books, but merely to touch them and smell them, is concerned about the inevitable conversion of texts to digital format.

"To publish", so difficult today due to high costs of printing and distribution will be much easier with the electronic books. And as new literature geniuses will be discovered we will also have to support an avalanche of garbage written by those who never would have overcome the barriers of the traditional publishing industry.
