Roberto González, general manager of DELSUR, the company that will inaugurate the station on August 20, told Elmundo.sv that "... This one that we are inaugurating will be open to anyone who has an electric vehicle. We know that the amount is not much, we will not see someone charging daily, but we do want to demonstrate DELSUR's commitment to go ahead with creating a network of electric stations to support the growth of demand for electric vehicles."
The article adds that "... With the start up of the first public station, the bases are established to create a network of electric stations in El Salvador, similar to the one designed by the headquarters of the distributor, the Colombian Grupo EPM, in Medellín. At the moment, according to the company estimates, in the vehicle fleet of El Salvador there are about four electric vehicles."
It was reported that at first the service will be free, but in the future it is expected that the company will charge for the electric charging service.
In the last two months of the year, the Costa Rican Electricity Institute will install 28 new battery recharging stations for this type of vehicle at various points nationwide.
