The Alcoholic Beverages Market in Guatemala

A price war and the entry of new brands, especially beer, have added dynamism to the sector.

Monday, June 17, 2013

"During the period 2011-12 companies launched onto the market products such as Budweiser presented by the company AmBev CentroAmerica, as well as other mixtures made by Cervecería Centro Americana", reported Prensalibre.com.

Sales were also increased by innovative products, such as ready to serve beverages. An example is the launch of the preparations Quetzalteca Rosa de Jamaica and Tamarindo by Industries Licoreras de Guatemala.

Off-trade sales (purchased in one place and consumed elsewhere) represented 74% of the total market, as on-trade drinks (consumed at the site) are very expensive.
