El Salvador to Tender Tourism Promotion

The Ministry of Tourism has announced plans to publish this month a tender to develop an international tourism promotion campaign, worth $2 million.

The tourism minister, Jose Napoleon Duarte, said that the contract for the international advertising campaign will be for $1.9 million and the request for proposals will be published before the end of February, on the state procurement website.

Duarte told Laprensagrafica.com: "... 'We hope that more agencies will get involved; since more agencies have been competing we have seen significant cost savings'."

Panama to Tender Advertising Services

The Tourism Authority is preparing to announce in September an international tender to hire an advertising agency to promote the country's tourism destinations abroad.

According to Jesus Sierra, head of the Tourism Authority of Panama (ATP), the contract will be for a period of 12 months with the possibility of extending it for a year.

$2.5 Million in International Promotion of El Salvador

The country's tourism officials have announced a campaign entitled "El Salvador, what you have in your heart", in which it will invest half of the annual advertising budget.

The campaign will start with television ads for the U.S. market, and then spread through Europe and Central America, consuming 50% of the Ministry of Tourism’s annual advertising budget .
