El Salvador to Host ENADE 2013

The XIII National Private Enterprise Conference 2013 will be held on April 29, and will focus on the role of businesses and the investment climate.

The event will be held at the Sheraton Hotel Presidente from 1:30 pm. The current role of Salvadoran businesses will be discussed as well as prospects for improving the investment climate and socio-economic development of the country.

"92% of the country's GDP is generated through the dynamic relationship between business and citizens. Therefore Enade will call on the government to respect productive activity, freedom of enterprise and private property rights," said Jorge Daboub, president of the National Association of Private Enterprise (ANEP), organizer of the event .

The activity will be attended by two experts on issues of corporate social responsibility and economic freedoms. "Mark Kramer, U.S. economist at Harvard University and co-author of the theory of shared value, will give a presentation which will demonstrate how companies must look for success taking into account the various business conditions and their various contexts in which they operate", reported Elsalvador.com.

"Meanwhile Robert Sirico, president of the Acton Institute, a Catholic research and analysis institution, will emphasize the need to stimulate the market for economic prosperity through the creation of individual and collective freedoms ..."

In El Salvador, the state budget allocated to security is $500 million a year, while the total amount invested by private enterprises for self-protection is $600 million.

"The combined budgets (National Civil Police, the Attorney General's Office and the Armed Forces of El Salvador) total about $500 million and the private sector invests over $600 million annually on security issues," said Jorge Daboub, president of the National Association of Private Enterprise (ANEP).
