El Salvador Travel Market 2013

From September 6th to 8th the first exhibition to promote tourism in El Salvador will be held, directed mainly at the U.S. market.

The event will be held at the International Center for Fairs and Conventions (Cifco). "This will be a meeting point for Salvadoran and international wholesale businesses with those who want to strengthen trade ties to boost sales of Salvadoran destinations in Canada, the United States and Mexico", reported Elmundo.com.sv.

In total 50 international wholesalers will be taking part in the event, 35 of them are U.S. tour operators, five are from Canada and the other five are from Mexico.

Among those who have confirmed their participation in the activity are: Explorica, Biotrek Adventures y Terra Nature de EE.UU, Adventures Abroad, Destinos Enterprises, Worldwide Eco Tours de Canadá y Jaho Adventures, Operadora Hevimex and Oporto Mayorista de México.

The fair is expected to "capture more tourism of U.S. origin without neglecting the market of Salvadorans living in the U.S.," said Jose Napoleon Duarte, head of the Ministry of Tourism (Mitur).

Over thirty wholesale companies from the United States will participate in business roundtables with local operators on October 23rd and 24th in the capital.

From a statement issued by the Ministry of Tourism of El Salvador (MITUR):

Over 30 wholesalers from the United States, will be in the country for the second edition of the El Salvador Travel Market 2014 (ESTM2014), which starts on Thursday 23 October and which includes business meetings in a hotel in the capital.

Guatemala Travelmarket 2013

From 10 to 16 October there will be a meeting of wholesalers and tour operators to promote the country's tourist destinations.

The event will be held at the Hotel Barceló Guatemala City. So far 1,600 appointments have been arranged , and projections are that deals will be closed worth $4 million, according to the Guatemalan Institute of Tourism (INGUAT).

Nicaraguan Tourism Promoted in the U.S.

Tourism industry representatives are participating in the Annual Meeting of the United States Association of Tour Operators, known by the acronym USTOA.

A press release from the newspaper "El Pueblo Presidente" reads:

The CEO of INTUR, Architect Mario Salinas Pasos, is heading a delegation that is participating in North America in the Annual Meeting of the United States Association of Tour Operators known by the acronym USTOA.

Costa Rica Tourism Promotion Plan

September 2010

With a $2 million investment, the Costa Rican Tourism Bureau (ICT for its acronyms in Spanish) will promote the country as a travel and business destination in 28 international fairs.

During the 2010-2011 season, that starts on September 19th, the ICT will participate in 15 fairs in North America (U.S., Mexico and Canada), 9 in Europe and 4 in Latin America.
