El Salvador: Tender for Road Signs and Signals

The Ministry of Public Works tenders vertical and horizontal signage on different urban and interurban roads in the country.

El Salvador Government Purchase DR-CAFTA LA-ADA-UE-CA-03/2019:

"The aim of the project is to maintain and replace horizontal and vertical road signs on the country's urban and interurban roads, to correct deficiencies of lack of signs, visibility, homologation and damage of all kinds that reduce their functionality, with the aim of increasing road safety and improving vehicle circulation.

The road signs subject to this process shall comply with the characteristics and specifications stipulated in these tender documents, the SIECA manual (Central American Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices), with standards EN-1436, EN-1871, (European Standard), AASHTO M 249 for materials, performance, manufacturing processes, installation and demarcation of horizontal signs and ASTM D4956 for vertical signs, and other standards mentioned in this document.

The tenderer in its capacity as "The Contractor" shall be responsible for: the manufacture, supply and installation of road signs, as part of the maintenance of road signs, replacement of deteriorated signs, replacement of missing signs and installation of new signs to provide optimal road safety levels that protect the lives of drivers and pedestrians, maintaining effective traffic regulation that enables smooth and orderly vehicular traffic. The offer shall be prepared and evaluated on the basis of the offer plan and shall be executed under the modality of requirement by lots, through the issuance of work orders by the contract administrator."

Deadline for receipt of tenders: March 1, 2019.
