El Salvador: Tender for Construction of Solar Plant

A call has been made for companies to pre-qualify in order to participate in the preparation of the tender, evaluation of offers, contract negotiation and supervision of construction of a 14 MW photovoltaic plant.

The prequalification process is for the hiring of consulting services for the preparation of the tender, evaluation of bids and contract negotiation, site supervision, cost control, receipt of supplies and services, training for personnel at the Executive Committee Hidroelectrica del Rio Lempa (CEL) and verification of performance and energy efficiency in the post-commissioning of the plant.

The deadline for receipt of offers is June 25.

An article on LaPrensagrafiica.com states that "...The project, which was announced in June 2012, will be installed in the vicinity of the reservoir dam 15 Setiembre and will generate enough electricity for 20,000 households. This solar project will represent an outlay of about $50 million by the CEL and will be financed by the German Development Bank (61%), the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (17%) and Bandesal (22%). "
