El Salvador Signs an Agreement with Czech Republic

The countries signed a Memorandum of Understanding in the tourism field to promote El Salvador in the European nation as a tourist destination.

The signing of the document was done with the aim of developing relations between El Salvador and Czech Republic in the tourism field, in order to exchange technical information, statistics and materials promoting tourism, so that mutual understanding could be improved.

It is also hoped that the agreement will encourage cooperation between the Salvadoran Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Regional Development of the Czech Republic in terms of training the human resources employed in tourism.

Last year, statistics from the Ministry of Tourism of El Salvador reported the entry of 2,994 Czech tourists.

Hillary Clinton to Visit El Salvador and Honduras

US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton will visit the country to attend the inauguration of Salvadoran president-elect Mauricio Funes on June 1.

The Secretary of State announced that after visiting El Salvador on June 1, she will be in Honduras on June 2 and 3 to attend the General Assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS).
