El Salvador: Offers In For 100 MW Renewable Energy Tender

DELSUR has reported the results of the offers, which ranged from between 6 MW and 60 MW priced between $101.9 and $123.4 per MWh.

From a statement issued by Distribuidora de Electricidad DELSUR:

La Distribuidora de Electricidad DELSUR, together with the Superintendency of Electricity and Telecommunications (SIGET), and the National Energy Council (CNE) announced this day that the companies UDP Neoen-Almaval, UDP Proyecto La Trinidad and Solar Reserve Development Co. II, LLC were the recommended proponent bidders at the end of the stage of opening of economic offers in the tender process for 100 MW (megawatts) of power and associated energy based on photovoltaic energy sources, this being another process which is transparent to all citizens.

The Superintendent of the SIGET, Blanca Noemi Coto, noted the following: "Today we are making history in the life of the country, we are taking another step in the consolidation of the objectives we have set for development, inclusion, growth and investment. We are also taking a further step forward in the diversification of our energy mix in power generation which is friendly to the environment, clean energy."

Offers in Renewable Energy Tenders

December 2018

In El Salvador, 18 proposals were submitted for the tender of 28 MW of non-conventional renewable energy, of which 12 correspond to solar projects and 6 to biogas-based generation projects.

With no details of the participating companies, it was reported that the 18 technical and economic proposals were presented on December 19 in the morning to the DELSUR authorities.

El Salvador: Tender for 150 MW

The DELSUR power distributorm company has announced it will publish the conditions for a tender on 10 February for the provision of 150 MW of renewable energy .

The design of the tender is being developed in coordination with the General Superintendency of Electricity and Telecommunications (Siget), and distribution companies, said Luis Reyes, executive secretary of the National Energy Council (CNE) to Elmundo.com.sv.

Contracts Signed for Solar Energy in El Salvador

July 2014

Contracts have been formalized with the four companies awarded the supply of 94 MW for a period of 20 years.

From a statement issued by the Ministry of Economy of El Salvador:

For the first time in El Salvador there has been a significant advance in the inclusion of large-scale renewable energy projects, with the addition of ith 4 clean energy projects to the national energy matrix and which will gradually reduce dependence on petroleum and lower energy prices.

Contracts Awarded for 94 MW of Renewable Energy

July 2014

Four companies who submitted bids with prices between $101.9 and $123.4 per MWh were selected for the power supply for the period 2016-2036.

The winning companies, as reported by Distribuidora de Electricidad DELSUR are: UDP-Neoen Almaval, with a price of 101.9 / MWh and 60 MW of allocated power, Solar Reserve Development Co.
