El Salvador Invites Bids for Street Lighting

The tender is for the provision of a street lighting service in the municipality of San Salvador.

The international public tender is for a lighting services contract in the municipality of San Salvador, which includes replacement, modernization, expansion, operation and maintenance.

According to the specifications of the bidding, contract services include:

A. The replacement of 100% of lighting fixtures in the municipality of San Salvador, which are under an unmetered tariff schedule equivalent to TWENTY THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED AND FIFTY-SIX (25,356) light fixtures, and their respective fittings (extension arms and anchor materials) installed within no more than 6 calendar months, located in urban corridors, residential areas, and developing communities, with LED technologies in streets and avenues which would provide as a whole, an efficient street lighting system for the municipality of San Salvador .

B. The expansion of service coverage for public lighting in streets and avenues, using LED technology, for an amount of $2.5 million over a period not exceeding 5 calendar years, in areas where there is no street lighting and where there is but with deficient light with respect to lighting parameters set out in the tender document, by improving lighting kits meeting the priorities set by the municipality through the Management of Urban Development.

C. The modernization with efficient lighting technology of parks, sports venues, heritage buildings, monuments, tunnels, overpasses and green areas, among others, based on the investment amount specified in the contract equivalent to $2.5 million and executed no later than 5 calendar years, by improving lighting kits, in accordance with priorities established by the municipality, through the Management of Urban Development.
