El Salvador: Intention to Purchase Online

Between July and October in El Salvador the number of consumers who were trying to purchase life insurance online increased by 45%, and the number of people looking to buy children's clothing decreased by 43%.

For this analysis, CentralAmericaData collected data on the number of Salvadoran consumers who in July showed their interest in purchasing various products and services via online. In October the same information was collected again and the variations reported in the quarter in question were evaluated.

Details of some of the most outstanding findings:

Cosmetics and makeup: In this market a 34% decrease in the number of people looking to buy nail care products was registered nationwide, and the number of consumers trying to buy eye makeup decreased by 36%.

Jewelry: In the country the number of consumers that in the digital environment explored options to buy engagement and wedding rings increased 57%. In the case of people who expressed interest in buying fine jewelry necklaces, it grew by 29%.

Sporting Goods: The number of Salvadoran consumers looking to buy exercise equipment tripled for the months under analysis, and the number of people trying to access the services of a gym or training center rose by 13%.
