Changes in imports 
Considering the period from January to September, between 2013 and 2016 the total value of vehicle parts imported by El Salvador has grown at an average of 9%, with the year 2016 registering the largest increase, up 14% compared to the same period in 2015.

Origin of imports  
During the first three quarters of 2016, 34% of the value of imports made in El Salvador came from the US, 16% from China, 14% from Japan, 12% from Taiwan and 7% from Mexico.

Change in imports by country of origin
Mexico was the country of origin of Salvadoran imports with the highest growth recorded between January and September 2016 compared to the same period in 2015, increasing by 28%.

Monthly imports 
From January 2012 to September 2016, the months that recorded the highest import values were July and August 2016, when $6.1 million worth of vehicles parts were purchased, while the month with the lowest figure was February 2015 with $3 million.
