El Salvador Bets on Convention Tourism

The government prioritizes making the International Fair and Conventions Center into a first-class hub for the Central American region.

Carmen Molina writes in ElSalvador.com: "The Minister of Tourism and the president of the organization, Rubén Rochi, said yesterday that they are in the process of awarding the bid to a consultant who can help Cifco create the 'most appropriate business model' to achieve this goal.

He emphasized that with almost 140,000 square meters of construction, of which about 25,000 meters have roof and other features, Cifco is the region’s “best kept secret“ in terms of available infrastructure for conducting fairs and conventions of large magnitude."
