El Salvador Awards Roadwork Contracts

Authorities awarded $11.2 million in 20 road maintenance contracts for unpaved roads.

A total 3.087,64 kilometers of road will be repaired and companies must start working as soon as possible.

FOVIAL explained that these works are part of the required yearly road maintenance, necessary to ensure an adequate useful life of network.

Tender: 107 kilometers of Roadworks

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Utilities in Honduras is putting out to tender the design and renovation of 107 kilometers of road.

Participation in these public bidding processes is open to all companies prequalified in category "A1" by the Directorate General of Roads and according to their ability to execute such projects.

The Road Maintenance Fund Authority (FOVIAL) today announced the start of road projects for 2012, which include routine maintenance works, and construction of roads and bridges, which will bring great benefits to the population and will generate thousands of jobs.

El Salvador: $ 2.35 Million in Metropolitan Road Network

A total of 212.36 kilometers of paved roads will be served throughout 2011.

The road maintenance in the Metropolitan Area of San Salvador (AMSS) contemplates important patching tasks, asphalt irrigation, micro-surfacing placement, removal of landslides and road safety signage, stone masonry for structures, just to name a few .

This year the Road Maintenance Fund (Fovial) will invest in the maintenance of 6,544 km of roads.

Fovial Director, Eliud Ayala, said that in the course of this week he signed 22 contracts for the maintenance of paved roads and is expected that during the next week to sign another 26 contracts for unpaved roads.
