El Salvador: $64 Million for Water Treatment

The Central American Bank for Economic Integration has approved a loan for technical and physical renovation of the Water Treatment Plant in Las Pavas, in the department of Cuscatlan.

From a statement issued by the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (BCIE):

The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (BCIE) has approved a loan the to Republic of El Salvador in the amount of $64.4 million to finance the renovation project on Works for the Collection, Purification and Treatment of the Electromechanical Water Plant Las Pavas, the most important source of drinking water El Salvador.

The project consists of developing actions for the technical and physical renovation of the Water Treatment Plant Las Pavas, by expanding and renovating infrastructure and replacing equipment, which will enhance the drinking water supplied to the National Water and Sewer Company (ANDA by its initials in Spanish) for use by the general population, assuring the continuity of service.

An article on Elmundo.sv reports that "... A $16,982,500 loan from the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (BCIE) aims to 'strengthen drinking water' through the 'technical and physical renovation and automation of the water treatment plant in Las Pavas'. "

El Salvador: $59 Million Water Treatment Plant

December 2015

With a $59 million loan from the French government renovation of the water treatment plant in Las Pavas will be undertaken.

From a statement issued by the Ministry of Economy of El Salvador:

Today the commitment of the Republic of France to grant resources for the "Renovation Project of the Water Treatment Plant in Las Pavas", amounting to €53 million euros was formalized.

Nicaragua: $30 million for Rural Sanitation

November 2014

The Central American Bank for Economic Integration has granted a loan to finance part of the program of works on Sustainability of Rural Water and Sanitation.

From a statement issued by the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (BCIE):

The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (BCIE) and the Government of Nicaragua signed a $30 million loan to finance the "Program for Sustainability of Rural Water and Sanitation".
